'Goldi' was our second annual holiday panto, performed at the Lobero Theater during the 200-2001 Holiday Season.. Everyone knows the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, or they think they do. Who is Goldilocks? Where does she come from? How does she happen to find herself in the house of the Three Bears? In the Second Annual Santa Barbara Family Panto "Goldilocks, 3 Bears… and then some!" you will learn the answers to these and many other questions you were doubtless afraid to ask. Goldilocks is a Princess, the only child of an impoverished King who hopes she will marry the Prince of a neighboring kingdom. Anxious to avoid what she fears will be a loveless marriage - this being a fairy tale, we all know it won't be or how will we have a happy ending? - Goldilocks enlists the aid of her friend Simple Simon and his landlady, the redoubtable Old Mother Hubbard. Unhappily for Goldilocks, she has aroused the interest of the Demon King who, as last year's audiences will recall, is not to be trifled with. Can the good Fairy save our heroine from a fate worse than death? Not without a great deal of help from the boys and girls in the audience! And where do the Three Bears fit into all of this? Well, you wouldn't want a Panto with no surprises, would you?
